While many security cameras are powered by wires, there is an alternative. Battery-powered security cameras are a widely used, compact solution for visual surveillance.
Much like wired cameras, battery-powered cameras are installed onto a wall, either in a home, office or other workspace you would like to be kept monitored.
An advantage to these cameras is that with no electrical outlets required to power the cameras, they can be placed literally anywhere. Using their wireless connection, several battery-powered cameras can be connected to a single base station. This offers the user the option of using many small cameras to overlook an area.
They are also quick to set-up and install. Offering a quick security solution should you be moving between buildings or areas. The downside to battery-powered cameras is the battery feature. While it allows the cameras to be small and discrete, it severely hampers the autonomous nature of security cameras, requiring regular maintenance much more than a wired camera.
